I bought later ones but didn't like them and the 6D is the one I stayed with. I still have the last version I used (6D). On my Macs, I use Scrivener, mostly, plus Writeroom, but it would be grand to have ole WS back. I've been using JDarkroom and like it a lot - sadly, no WS cursor controls, though. Haven't tried Joe's Own Editor on my EeePC. I even have an old system that still has it on it - I love it, but - wow - it's slow! Oh, yeah! I keep hoping to figure out how to impose the cursor controls on any text editor / word processor I use, but so far the only one I've been able to do it with is Word + macros. Then both navigation and edition would be very effective even with just 6 lines of text. I wish somebody wrote an SmartApplet that did something like that. I'm young to have tried Wordstar in its day, but I've used Joe's Own Editor under Linux (when run as Jstar it clones Wordstar for DOS) and it seems like a really cool and effective way to draft large amounts of text. Anybody else thinking it would be great to be able to use Wordstar shortcuts and navigation on an Alphasmart? Provided you could swap Ctrl and CapsLock.
